Good growth, poor policies
Ten years after the financial crisis, the global economy is back on track.
Unfortunately, politics is off the rails. The contrast between decent economic
growth and an uncertain political environment remains the main
theme in the outlook for the coming years. Populism and poor economic
policies are harmful, but, as the case of Venezuela and Turkey shows, the
time lag between the introduction of poor policies and the emergence of
a full-blown crisis can be long.
