Flash comment: Latvia - CPI April 2020
Annual inflation 0%

  • Prices of goods fell by 0.8%
  • Prices of services rose by 2.1%

Fuel prices and prices of housing related services pulled inflation down. Fuel prices followed global oil prices and were down by 20%. Housing related services were cheaper due to previously introduced administrative tariffs, which will likely continue to push down overall price level for a while.

Important to know: the data of the “fragile” sectors affected by the pandemic were incomplete in April due to furlough.
